U20 in 2026
The cities of Los Angeles and New York are the 2026 Urban 20 (U20) Co-Chairs, following a handover from the 2025 South African Presidency, Co-chaired by Johannesburg and Tshwane.
Through a series of virtual and in person events, leading up to the U20 Mayors Summit, the U20 Participating Cities will collaborate with invited Observer and Guest cities, and partner organisations, to identify shared priorities, advocacy asks, and opportunities for action on some of the world’s most pressing challenges. They then leverage their united, urban voice to engage with G20 national governments.
This year’s cycle will be organised around three key priorities, subject to discussion and agreement by all U20 Participating cities:
- Affordable Housing and Homelessness
- Climate Action, Sustainability, and Resilience
- Protecting Immigrant Communities and Human Mobility
